Event Promotion/Coverage Request

Do you have an event or program coming up that might merit social media coverage? The #UConnSocial team works with colleagues across campus to assess their social media needs and then determines how best to meet them. Prior to submitting an event coverage request, does it meet any of the following criteria?

  • Showcase students?
  • Appeal to donors?
  • Alumni?
  • Portray the University in a positive light?
  • Is this a recurring event?
  • Is it the first of its kind?
  • Does the event invite participation?
  • Does it connect to any newsworthy issues?

If you answered yes to any of the above, then you should request social media coverage using the form below. We'll use the information you provide to determine if your item is eligible for coverage by our #UConnSocial team. The more questions you answered yes to above, the more likely we'll be able to help share your program/event.

Timing is important. In order to provide quality work, we must have adequate notice ahead of time. Please submit your request at least seven days prior to the event you'd like covered for your coverage request to be considered. The best rule of thumb is to request coverage as soon as possible and let us work out a timeline with you.

Our #UConnSocial team makes the best effort to provide coverage for the entire University in a fair and consistent manner. Due to a high volume of needs and requests, we are not always able to cover every event that comes our way. That does not mean you should not submit a request! If our team can provide promotion or coverage, we will. If not, other appropriate avenues may be suggested.

    Please provide graphics/visuals for your program/event. Preferred social graphic aspect ratios should be 1:1, 16:9, and 9:16. There is a 2MB upload limit for each file.
